Vintage Lithographic advertising - cigar box labels

Cigar box advertising labels were very common in the 1850's, when chromolithography made it inexpensive to print a beautiful label that would be glued to a cigar box.  Some of these labels used more than 20 colors, which were printed one at a time, on sheets of plain or satin-finished paper, which was often embossed at the end of the process.  Cigar box labels were so painstakingly designed in the late 1880s, that the label was often described as better than the cigar. Multiple subjects were used in the artwork, making this collection valuable for several art projects.

est quality format for those who manipulate and save their images often, and also
the best format for print and other graphics purposes. Multiple saves of the image does
not degrade a .tif, as it would in .jpg and other formats. Clean, large and colorful.
Perfect for cigar efficionados and lovers of colorful nostalgic lithographic art.
